Two problems I have encountered in 2 short phone calls. One is that Cypress Lakes does a minimum of two nights over the weekend. We would have to stay Friday and Saturday nights and miss the Basement Gig. It is $385 pernight for the 4 of us in a 3 bedroom villa with Breakfast. So let me know how you feel about this. The other problem is that Cafe Sydney is already booked out for NYE. So I need to find somewhere else, which I'm sure will not be a problem. As to the Hunter Valley thing, maybe we could do it another trip if it is going to be a problem. I will buy you a case of Hunter Valley wines and you can taste them in the comfort of my new plastic-covered sofa-ed lounge room. Anyway let me know what you want to do. There were villas free on that weekend anyway but they don't do winery bus tours, leaving us to explore the problem of what happens when foreigners get caught drink driving!!!!!!

Hmmm... extra nights of pampering, huh? I'll have to check with my vacationing cohorts and see what their opinions are.
Are there other accomodations that would be recommended nearby? Perhaps we can just visit the Spa for a couple of hours for some treatments during the day...
So, the general consensus is that we would be happy to do the 2 night trip to Hunter Valley if you are. The alternative is to find some different accomodation and just go for the 1 night. Either way, we're not that bothered about missing the Basement gig thing.
Also, Vivaz looks good. If you can find out what the arrangements are re being locked in if we get there early, or whether it makes sense to get there a bit later and stay through the midnight festivities. Also, my cousin Nick is interested in going and perhaps taking a few friends along as well... Let us know what you
